Veterans who believe they were discharged inappropriately or believe their personnel records still reflect an error may request a review. Once Veterans receive official notification that their discharge status has been upgraded to fully honorable, they can submit a new education benefit claim to VA.

VA reduces backlog of Veterans waiting for VA benefits by 57%

The backlog of Veterans waiting for VA compensation and pension benefits has dropped by more than 57% since the start of the second Trump Administration. The backlog reduction was made possible through a series of record-breaking production milestones.

VA houses largest number of homeless Veterans in seven years 

VA permanently housed 51,936 homeless Veterans across the country in fiscal year 2025. That’s the department’s best performance since it began tracking the number of individual Veterans permanently housed instead of the total number of permanent housing placements, ensuring a more accurate count of the number of Veterans helped.

VA pulls the plug on $77 million EV-charger earmark

VA has terminated a mandate to spend $77 million on electric vehicle charging stations at VA facilities. The money will instead be redirected to critical health care construction projects.
