In loving Memory of Jim Smith
The Young Democrats of Richmond County mourn the loss of one of our own, former YDRC President, Jim Smith.
Jim was an advocate for the LBGTQ+ community, including being a founding member of the SI Pride Center, and the first Grand Marshal to Staten Island PrideFest.
He was mentor to many, and a friend to all who knew him.
Donations in Jim's honor can be sent to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Please mention Jim in the remarks section of your donation.

Allyn Crawford's Campaign Launch Party was a huge success!
- The 6 local Democratic Clubs on Staten Island came together to host an amazing campaign launch party for Allyn's critical race for Civil Court Judge.
- Moderated by YDRC President, KC Hankins, we got to hear from Allyn's law partner and our elected officials about why Allyn is the best suited for this
- Sign up to volunteer on Allyn's campaign here - there are many ways to help out!
- Learn more about Allyn Crawford’s background and why he is the best fit for the job at www.crawfordforcivilcourt.com

SYEP Summer Bridge 2020
- We are happy to see that SYEP has been partially restored this summer. It is a critical program for young people to gain work experience, earn income, and continue to work towards their goals throughout the summer.
- If you are interested, you can submit an application. The deadline is July 15th and participants are selected through a lottery.
- If you have previously applied to SYEP, you still need to log into your existing application to choose a provider and agree to the new program model.
