Across the country, states are racing to redraw maps before 2030. Some call it
payback. I call it the wrong lesson.


In Virginia, voters chose a different path — an independent redistricting
commission to put people before politics. That standard is being tested, and
how we respond will echo beyond our borders.

Support Virginia’s model of fair elections

This isn’t a partisan appeal. It’s a principle: rules should be fair no matter
who’s in charge. If Virginia honors the voters’ word, we can remain a model for
transparent, trustworthy elections — and encourage others to do the same.
