John – Yesterday, while doing an ICE verification I watched as ICE & CBP unlawfully kidnapped people in Durham.

The agents were masked. They refused to show a warrant, and they put members of our community in an unmarked vehicle.

This is still happening, even if it's not being reported. Call the Siembra hotline immediately if you see ICE, CBP, or any other federal agents: 336-543-0353

We are over 1,300 miles away from the border. There is no justification for CBP showing up in Durham with long guns, refusing to show a warrant, and kidnapping people. As a naturalized immigrant and elected official, even I felt shaken documenting it happen.

This is not about safety, it’s about intimidation. And I reject it with everything I have. Durham stands with our immigrant families, all of them.
