It’s hard to believe James launched this campaign only two months ago. A lot of people tried to dismiss us and dismiss Texas at first, but here’s what happened next:
First: Ken Paxton started attacking James as a “lunatic” who was “distorting Christianity.”
Then: John Cornyn decided to stoop down to Paxton’s level and parrot the same smears. He spent significant sums attacking James on Texans’ screens.
Now: Public polling shows this race is in the margin of error. James is in a dead heat with both of them. Our campaign is putting Texas’ U.S. Senate seat in play for Democrats in a way almost nobody believed was possible earlier this year.
But the truth is, our momentum is only going to invite more smears and attack ads. DC Republicans are scared and are likely willing to do anything to make sure James is not our nominee.
