Dear friend,

We find hope in the quilt of resistance, love, and protection being knit across the country right now. The communities, congregations, and individuals organizing to keep families together, keep democracy alive, and keep each other safe demonstrate what organizing can win. We see you. We thank you.

How can we best celebrate these efforts? By redoubling our own commitment to organizing against authoritarianism and Christian nationalism. Read on to hear more about what we’re up to.

In this letter:
* In The News: A few examples of faith leaders and communities stepping into their power and facing empire.
* Upcoming Events: Young Organizers Info Session (TONIGHT), Luke 10 Congregations, and NY Lobby Day.
* Resources: Advent of a Revolution faith resources, Look Loud’s holiday swag collection to keep dissent alive!

In solidarity,

The Kairos Team

** Moved by our faith

As Christian nationalism dominates national conversations of faith, we are heartened by the leaders and congregations across the country who are compelled by their faith to resist. From California to New York, new coalitions of faith leaders are moving to disrupt, resist, and protect in the face of brutality. They are rising to the moment, answering the calls of their communities and religious traditions. Here are just a few examples to inspire and drive you.

** Learn more about Luke 10 Congregations
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

At this critical moment in history, when Christianity is being distorted and weaponized, churches can – and indeed must – play an important role in rebuilding community connections, meeting urgent needs, confronting and resisting attacks on the poor and marginalized, and casting a vision for the just and inclusive society we are called to build. The Luke 10 Congregations program is designed to support congregations in meeting this moment, while creating a supportive network of congregations who are all seeking to do this work in their respective communities.

More information sessions will be held:

Tuesday December 9th @ 7pm ET / 4pm PT

Thursday January 22nd @ 12pm ET / 9am PT

** Invest in Our NY Virtual Lobby Day
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]

As we head toward the start of the 2026 legislative session in January, our fight to protect New Yorkers from harmful federal cuts is more urgent than ever. That means doubling down on our campaign to raise revenue and tax the rich — ensuring the state has the resources to protect critical public benefits and services. Join Labor-Religion Coalition and our partners in the Invest in Our NY coalition for a Virtual Lobby Day on Thursday, November 20th.

** Keep Dissent Alive with Look Loud!
------------------------------------------------------------

In these times of crisis, sharing our commitment to justice in the public square is an act of resistance. For a limited time, our friends and cultural organizers at Look Loud have set up a holiday store with stickers and posters from their work on democracy, climate justice, fair taxes and a world where we can all thrive. Find the message that speaks to you and share the good news. Remember, every act of courage is contagious. Orders must be in by December 10!
