Governor Gordon Praises Congressional Delegation for Taking Steps to Protect Wyoming Mining Industry
“When signed by the President, this action ensures that no future federal administration can authorize the large-scale termination of coal leasing in the area.”
CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Nov. 19, 2025 -Governor Mark Gordon (R-WY) praised the Wyoming Congressional Delegation for their tireless and unwavering efforts to secure passage of this Congressional Review Act legislation. This measure rescinds the misguided BLM Resource Management Plan Amendment for coal in the Buffalo Field Office. This amendment, authored and pushed by the Biden Administration, ends coal leasing in much of the Powder River Basin.
“My thanks to Wyoming’s congressional delegation for their yeoman’s efforts to protect our mining industry and rescind this disastrous decision. When signed by the President, this action ensures that no future federal administration can authorize the large-scale termination of coal leasing in the area,” Governor Gordon said.
