John,
It’s Bushra. I’m writing this between swigs of DayQuil and salt gargling — because I finally hit a wall. After a whirlwind week of interviews, community gatherings, and a packed candidate town hall, I completely lost my voice.
This campaign has already hosted over 190 meet & greets, attended multiple forums, and spent countless nights crisscrossing the 9th District, because I believe something simple and deeply powerful:
Politics should be personal. Candidates should look people in the eye. We should earn trust one conversation at a time. And we should never forget who we’re fighting for.
That’s the kind of leader I want to be. That’s the movement we’re building.
But today… I can’t talk. Literally. My voice is gone, and my team has banned me from making calls until I recover. So instead of dialing supporters, I’m writing this message and hoping it still reaches you, even if I can’t say it out loud.
We can’t afford to lose a day of momentum — not in a race this important, not when our grassroots campaign is proving we can win. So I’m asking sincerely:
Will you step up for me today and make a contribution to help fill the gap while I rest? Any amount, $25, $10, or even $5, truly makes a difference.
