The Oswego Community Yard Sale is happening Aug. 7-8

Yard sale save the date

The Community Garage Sale is a Yard Sale this year!?

Did you spend quarantine tidying up and cleaning out the house? Pass on your gently-used-but-still-useful items at the Oswego Community Yard Sale this Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8.

The Oswego Community Yard Sale will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it?s a great opportunity to clean out basements and attics in an eco-friendly way by reusing and recycling unused items.

The cost to participate is $7 to help cover the cost of advertising the sale. Those who register will get their sales advertised on the Village of Oswego?s website, www.oswegoil.org, on the Village?s social media pages, and in a full-page ad in the Oswego Ledger on Thursday, Aug. 6.

Social Distancing Measures in Effect

The Oswego Community Garage Sale, typically held in May, was postponed this spring out of caution during the Stay at Home Order, but now it?s back as the Oswego Community Yard Sale. Residents looking to participate are asked to move their sales out of the garage and into the yard or driveway, where there is additional air flow.

In addition, all participants selling or shopping are asked to wear masks. Sellers are also asked to make hand sanitizer available for shoppers, frequently disinfect high-touch surfaces, and design their sales to promote one-way traffic and keep shoppers six feet apart. A full list of guidelines for sellers is included in this year?s registration form.
