Right now, Trump and Republicans in Congress are working overtime to try
to silence our movement – and they’re not even trying to hide it.
Senator Ted Cruz doubled down on his dangerous crusade to crush the
peaceful “No Kings” protest movement. He went on national TV, smeared
nonviolent protests as “riots,” and demanded Congress pass his so-called
“Stop FUNDERs Act” – a bill designed to threaten, prosecute, and silence
those who support protest actions like “No Kings.”

Let’s be clear: Cruz’s bill would give the government the power to ban
organizing, scare allies, and chill free speech. It's a blatant attack on
our rights and we need to OVERWHELM Congress with opposition RIGHT NOW.

Cruz wants to prosecute people for *funding* peaceful protest. And this
isn’t an isolated attack. Earlier this year, Donald Trump quietly signed a
new terrifying National Security directive – NSPM-7, which singles out
left-wing activists, launching a national strategy to “investigate and
disrupt” organizations like ours. And even scarier, it authorizes a
4,000-strong enforcement arm of the FBI to ‘prevent’ crimes that haven’t
even happened.
It’s completely chilling, but we refuse to be intimidated.
If we let this bill pass, we ALL could lose our right to support causes we
believe in – or simply speak out. This is not a drill. It’s about the
millions of people who have been the conscience of our democracy – and who
could be at risk of prosecution just for organizing for justice.
The good news is we can still defeat this. But only if we raise our
voices, fast and loud.
