Legislative Update – November 19, 2025

Dear neighbors,

This week, I was proud to be the opening speaker at the Minnesota Ground Water Association Fall Conference in Brooklyn Center. The focus of this year’s conference was Groundwater Recharge in a Changing Climate and Emerging Contaminants Beyond PFAS.

Ensuring our residents have access to clean, safe water is one of the most important tasks of government, and it takes collaboration across local, county, and state partners, up-to-date research, and a commitment to putting people above corporate profits. We’ve made progress in past years on PFAS prevention, but there’s still more work to be done.

Bonding Tour Wrap-Up

Last week was the final regional tour for the House Capital Investment Committee, focused on the metro area. We visited cities around the suburbs, met with Washington County, where I spoke about the importance of properly disposing wood waste, visited important state assets like the St. Paul Port Authority, Ordway Center, and the Minnesota Historical Society, where we were able to tour the underground storage facility.

Bonding

As a member of the committee, I've been with the tour throughout the fall, hearing directly from local leaders about the needs of their communities. When the 2026 Legislative Session begins in February, I look forward to continuing the conversations that started this fall and advocating for projects that will strengthen our cities and region into the future.

Legislative Audit Commission

This week, the Legislative Audit Commission, which I serve on, met to discuss future topics for the Office of the Legislative Auditor to evaluate. We're looking into the Department of Transportation’s handling of private contractors, regulation of state nursing home care, the Department of Human Services’ Office of Inspector General, and more.

LCCMR Opening

Do you love Minnesota’s parks, natural places and outdoor resources? There’s an opening on the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR), which reviews outdoor project proposals across Minnesota and helps guide the state lottery dollars that fund them.

If you’re excited about our lakes, forests, and wildlife and want to help preserve them for future generations, you can find more information here [ [link removed] ].
