John,
It's the team at the Kansas Democratic Party reaching out because the longest government shutdown in American history might have just ended, but the fight for the American people is far from over.
For 43 days, President Trump and MAGA Republicans from Kansas refused to come to the negotiating table and left thousands of Kansans without paychecks, without veterans and social security support, and without critical food and nutrition access.
Republicans did this because they want to raise your healthcare costs to foot the bill for their corporate tax cuts.
And after using food and people's paychecks as political chess-pieces, Republicans got their way: Healthcare premiums in 2026 are set to skyrocket, and millions of Americans will lose access to health care.
But ending the shutdown doesn't end this discussion, John.
Congress has already pledged to take up the issue of health care costs in December, and if it doesn't go well… we could be dealing with another shutdown in January.
John, everyone deserves access to healthcare, and to get it, we need common-sense legislators to reform policy at the state AND federal levels.
While our Democrats in Congress are holding the line and our Democrats in Kansas are working to help fill the gap that the government shutdown made hard to ignore, will you sign our petition telling Republicans to protect our families' access to care?
