Now, I’m running for reelection to flip the House blue. But Ohio’s 13th District is in one of the most competitive districts in the country, and Republicans are already outspending us 2:1.
I was a competitive gymnast and eventually became a state of Ohio champion in vault. I learned a lot from my time as a gymnast. It wasn’t just about physical toughness. Gymnastics showed me the importance of hard work and taught me to never back down from a challenge. I’m taking that same grit with me to my reelection campaign. This is NOT a safe blue seat. Republicans won by 11 points here in the last governor’s race, and every single county is trending red. Dark money groups are flooding OH-13 with attack ads to unseat me. We can win this race, but first, my team needs to reach more than 36,000 new voters in my newly redrawn district. It may sound like a high bar, but if we connect with voters before the GOP’s nonstop attack ads hit their TV screens, we can win this race and the House majority along with it. — Emilia Sykes P.S.
