With COP 30 in Belém ending on Friday, we only have a few days left to call on world leaders to reach a deal to transition away from fossil fuels and shift to cheap clean energy. If you haven’t added your name to our letter to COP 30 country delegations, now’s the time to call on negotiators to keep fossil fuel representatives out of these high stakes climate talks. Missed our earlier email? Read all the details below: ------------- Forwarded message ------------- 2025 is already on track to be one for the record books, but we’ve just broken another alarming climate precedent. A new report just revealed that a record-breaking 1,600-plus fossil fuel lobbyists are in attendance at the United Nation’s COP 30 climate summit in Belém, Brazil – outnumbering nearly every country delegation. With week two of COP 30 already underway, we only have a few days left to ensure fossil fuel lobbyists are shut out of key negotiations. Will you join us in speaking out, climate champion? With roughly one in 25 COP 30 participants representing oil, coal, and gas companies, this marks the largest share of fossil fuel delegates ever recorded at these UN climate summits. By infiltrating COP delegations from countries around the world, these lobbyists are doing all they can to delay the global energy transition and keep burning fossil fuels. While the UN’s annual climate conference remains the best and most inclusive forum for addressing the climate crisis, time is running out for world leaders to demonstrate their commitment to the Paris Agreement and make COP 30 a success.
