John, my very first introduction to public service was the Girl Scout promise:
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
I’ve been reflecting on what it means to serve my country as we’re coming down to the wire.
And I think that perhaps serving your country means refusing to give up on it, even when it breaks your heart. That’s why I’m in the fight to flip TN-07 blue, and your contribution right now helps us reach as many voters as possible.
I got my start as a community organizer at the Tennessee Justice Center.
I’ve cold-called every county mayor begging them to attend a town hall on rural hospital closures in West Tennessee.
I’ve held back tears listening to so many of you share how this government has chosen profit over your chance to live meaningful, productive lives.
But instead of giving up, I’m running for Congress to continue the slow, steady work of funding hospitals, fixing roads, and feeding kids.
We’ve got 13 days to go, and if you’re with me, I hope you can chip in any amount that is meaningful to you today.
