Yesterday, Trump met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House. A lot came out of that meeting, the biggest news being Trump dismissing the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a journalist and U.S. resident whom American intelligence believes was killed on MBS’s orders.

That alone should alarm every one of us. But for me, it raised even more red flags. So I went to the House floor and demanded the release of the call transcripts between Trump and MBS. Here’s why:

During my time on the National Security Council, I reviewed many calls between Trump and foreign leaders — including the Zelenskyy call that my twin brother Alex and I blew the whistle on, leading to Trump’s first impeachment. I also reviewed a call between Trump and MBS after Khashoggi’s murder, and it was shocking.

I’ve heard firsthand how Donald Trump speaks to authoritarian leaders behind closed doors. I’ve seen how he bends American values to protect himself, not our country.

That pattern is repeating itself right now.

Trump is protecting MBS instead of standing up for American principles, American intelligence, and a murdered journalist whose family still has no justice.

This isn’t just “things happen,” as Trump said yesterday. It’s a test of whether the truth still matters.

I spoke out over 6 years ago because the American people deserve honesty and to see their leaders held accountable — but accountability depends on all of us refusing to look away. And I’m not turning away now.

I’ll keep telling the truth. I won’t be intimidated into silence. But I know this puts a target on my back from Trump and his MAGA cronies.
