Team, Republicans control all three branches of government, and they decided that one of their top priorities this year would be slashing funding for the food that millions of Americans rely on.

They didn’t work to lower the cost of living. They didn’t invest in “America First.” They cut healthcare and food assistance for working class Americans while giving themselves and their billionaire friends huge tax breaks.

The truth is that Donald Trump’s approval ratings are in the gutter and he lost big in this month’s elections. The American people have made it clear that they don’t want cuts. Folks understand how important these programs are for keeping working people afloat. What they do want to see is lower prices on groceries, housing, health care, and energy — something Trump just hasn’t delivered.

We have an opportunity next year to break Trump’s hold on the levers of power and elect a Senate that puts a stop to his far-right agenda.

But if we are going to go up against the billionaires and their Super PACs, we have to start investing right now in the fight to win the midterms.

For us, that means raising the resources to re-elect Ed Markey and ensure that Massachusetts continues to be represented by progressive leaders who refuse to bend the knee to Trump.
