John,

A whale was found dead with 88 pounds of plastic in its stomach -- much of it from single-use food packaging.1

That whale isn't alone. From turtles and birds to marine mammals, the nonstop flow of plastic is killing wildlife. Yet grocery stores are still selling many food items in single-use plastics, and Trader Joe's is no exception.

When it comes to prioritizing the health of animals big and small, Trader Joe's can be a leader by curbing plastic waste. Tell Trader Joe's to stop using unnecessary single-use plastics today.

Tell Trader Joe's to cut down on plastic packaging

Our rivers, lakes, streams and oceans are piling up with plastic. And Trader Joe's, like many grocers, continues to sell food wrapped in single-use plastic packaging. It's absurd.2

When it comes to curbing plastic pollution, a single shopper can only do so much. But Trader Joe's is a leader in its industry and is one of the most popular grocery chains in the U.S.

Committing to reducing single-use packaging in all of its stores would go a long way in helping the wildlife whose habitats are drowning in plastic.3

Tell Trader Joe's to be a leader for the environment by reducing single-use plastics in its stores.

Trader Joe's has already made progress by removing more than 12 million pounds of plastic packaging from its products.4 But there's more to be done -- more than one garbage truck's worth of plastic enters the ocean every minute. We can't wait.5

Tell Trader Joe's to help save wild places and wildlife from the incessant flow of single-use plastics by reducing its plastic use today.

Thank you,

Ellen Montgomery
