It’s almost an understatement to say that 2025 brought a veritable onslaught of challenges for the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM) and Minnesota’s immigrants and refugees. Since day one under the new administration, we have been confronting rapid legal and policy changes that dramatically and directly impact our clients’ lives, alongside on-the-ground enforcement actions by an increasingly violent and militarized federal government. In fact, just yesterday, we saw alarming ICE activity in [link removed] Saint Paul. In response, we quickly opened our detention phone line to impacted individuals and families.
