<[link removed]> <[link removed]>Yesterday evening I was elected Leader of the New Zealand National Party alongside Gerry Brownlee who was elected as Deputy Leader.



I am incredibly proud to step into the leadership role at this crucial time for our Party, our country, and all New Zealanders.



I would like to acknowledge and thank Todd Muller and Nikki Kaye for their service to our Party and New Zealand. Our thoughts are also with Todd, Michelle and their family.



As a National MP since 2002, I have served in Parliament and Cabinet as our country faced some of the most turbulent events in modern history.



The Global Financial Crisis. The Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes. And now, COVID-19.



I am proud to have played a role in stewarding our country through these difficult events and I am ready to bring my experience and skills to see New Zealand through these uncertain times.



New Zealanders need a government that will do as it says, and deliver much needed leadership at the helm.



I know only a National Government can deliver this.



Only National has the team, the plan, and the vision to get New Zealand working and re-ignite our economy.



John, this election is going to be hard-fought and we need your support to deliver the right result on September 19th.
