Today I spoke on the House floor ahead of the vote to compel the Justice Department to release the Epstein Files, and my message was simple:
Release all the damn files. Now.
Thousands of girls were abused by Jeffrey Epstein and his massive and powerful ring of pedophiles and protectors of pedophiles. They carried a burden that they never should have had to bear.
The least we can do is answer their call to justice by voting to release the files — and that’s exactly what we did today, despite all the cover-up attempts by the Trump administration and the Speaker of the House.
With this vote, we’ve made it clear that there is no protection for pedophiles, and no protection for the rich and powerful men of either party who participated or turned a blind eye to the horrific abuses of young children.
It’s time to get justice for survivors and the full truth for the American people.
