We know we emailed you about this a couple days ago, but the corruption is so atrocious we had to highlight more of what your tax dollars actually paid for.
While Illinois families were fighting to keep their jobs, businesses, and children’s education afloat during COVID, Chicago Public Schools had other priorities such as:
Booking luxury hotels in Las Vegas. Flying staff to Finland, Estonia, and even Hawaii. Padding invoices and dodging oversight.
A new inspector general report just exposed what many of us feared: CPS abused federal COVID relief money meant for kids to fund exorbitant and even fraudulent employee vacations.
One principal used CPS funds to celebrate his anniversary with his spouse in a Vegas suite. Another teacher racked up $4,700 at a Hawaiian resort for a four-day seminar. The district spent $7.7 million last year alone, which is more than double pre-pandemic levels.
Meanwhile, test scores are collapsing, violence is surging in schools, and parents are being left behind. This is what Democrat leadership looks like.
That’s why we are launching the Illinois Accountability Fund to expose this corruption, fight back against waste and fraud, and recruit school board candidates who will stand up for students and taxpayers.
