Politics in a Nutshell
State panel projects Iowa revenue to drop $800 million in fiscal 2026 - The Daily Iowan [[link removed]]
Iowa’s revenue is expected to drop by 9% in the 2026 fiscal year, a loss of around 800 million dollars. This decrease is primarily attributed to tax cuts and increased instability in Iowa’s economy. Every year since 2023 state spending has outpaced revenue, and under continued Republican leadership Iowa’s future remains on this rocky path.

Give your representatives a call and ask them questions about the decisions they are making in Congress .
Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (202) 225-6576
Mariannette Miller-Meeks voted to release the Epstein files even though she didn’t sign the petition papers to actually bring them to a vote on the floor. She only seems to have decided to vote ‘yes’ on releasing the files after Trump flipped [[link removed]] and said it was okay. If she truly cared about finding justice for the victims and punishing their abusers, why did she wait for permission to do so?

Note From the Chair
Hey folks! Rita Hart here.
As I’m sure you’ve already heard, the House voted today to release the Epstein Files. Now all that remains to be seen is whether the truth finally comes to light.
Leading up to the vote, Iowa’s representatives stayed quiet on whether they were planning to release the files. None of Iowa’s representatives – Feenstra, Hinson, Miller-Meeks, nor Nunn – signed on to the petition papers to bring the Epstein Files to a floor vote. They only voted in favor once the issue couldn’t be avoided any longer, and once Trump publicly flipped [[link removed]] his previous statements and ‘supported’ the release of the files.
The victims deserve justice, which can only be achieved once the Epstein files are released in their entirety.
Sincerely,
Rita Hart
