Hi Supporter,

We’re really excited to announce our second online forum with the NDIA!

Online forum with the NDIA

We had such great feedback from our last online forum [[link removed]] that we decided we had to do another one. Thank you to everyone who came last time - we hope you found it useful.

We’re back again with NDIA General Manager Scott McNaughton. But this time we will also be joined by NDIS Scheme Actuary Sarah Johnson.

So mark Friday the 24th of July at 11:30am (AEST) in your diaries now.

Scott and Sarah will talk through all the latest changes with the NDIS. They will also be answering your questions live.

We know many of you are in Melbourne and back in lockdown – and that many people with disability and their families around the country are also still self isolating. You can ask Scott and Sarah about the changes made to the NDIS during this period – what they plan to keep and what will be phased out.

But you can also ask them about anything else – this time we are not sticking just to issues around COVID-19.

We want you to send in your questions again. Send them to us at [[email protected]]. Or you can send them through on Facebook [[link removed]] if that’s easier. We promise to try to get through as many as we can.

We know that everything during this time has been pretty confusing and sometimes it has felt like no one is listening. So this is a great chance to voice your concerns directly to the people in charge.

Join us at 11:30am (AEST) on Friday July 24th. Spots will be limited so please book and let us know you are coming.

Register now [[link removed]] to make sure you don’t miss out.

On the day before the forum we will email everyone who registers a link. You can use that link to join the Zoom meeting on your computer or phone. Make sure you have Zoom downloaded and ready to go by installing it [[link removed]] here [[link removed]] . [[link removed]]

Please also make sure to tell us about your accessibility requirements when you register.

Register now [[link removed]] And don’t forget …

We also want to remind you about your chance to have your say about the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

We’ve all been angry and heartbroken about the terrible stories of violence, abuse and neglect that have made the headlines recently.

Now we all have a chance to push for change.

The Joint Standing Committee is holding a super fast inquiry into the Quality and Safeguards Commission.

They want to know what’s working, what’s not and what needs to change.

So if you have had an experience with the Commission or just have a good idea about how things could work better – now is the chance to have your say.

You can write to the Joint Standing Committee yourself – or we can do all the work for you. Just tell us your story or idea [[link removed]] and we will bundle them all up and pass them on to the committee.

Send us your message [[link removed]]

That’s it for now.

Please stay safe and look after yourselves.
