Friend, after weeks of devastation from Hurricane Melissa, first responders have finally reached most of the communities that were stranded in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains. What they’ve found is heartbreaking.
Families have endured weeks without electricity, clean water, medicine, or communication — completely cut off as landslides destroyed roads and flooding swept through entire neighborhoods. Even now, many communities are still navigating dangerous conditions, and the true scope of need is only becoming clear as access improves.
Your support today can help us meet the immediate needs of families in Jamaica, while continuing to bring lifesaving care to people in need around the world — wherever the need is greatest. Will you make a donation today to power Project HOPE’s global mission?

Project HOPE teams are on the ground delivering food, drinking water, hygiene kits, and medical supplies while coordinating with local responders to reach the hardest-hit areas. We are also supporting health workers who have been caring for their communities despite empty hospital shelves, damaged facilities, and days without rest.
In the coming days, we are expanding our response across St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland, St. James, and Trelawny parishes in Jamaica, including:
- Establishing four static health clinics and four mobile medical units
- Conducting water trucking to communities with damaged water infrastructure
- Distributing hygiene kits and essential supplies
- Providing mental health and resiliency training to front-line responders
- Continuing to procure medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals
Friend, families across Jamaica are still living without basic necessities, and urgent health needs continue to rise as responders reach communities that were isolated for weeks. Will you help us reach the families in greatest need? Your gift today can help provide lifesaving aid and sustain our emergency work across the Caribbean and deliver urgent relief with lasting impact around the world in the countries where we work.
Thank you for your compassion and for standing with families rebuilding after this crisis.
— The Project HOPE Team
