The Trump administration claims its offshore oil sale does not require an environmental impact assessment, even though it's expected to result in the production of more than 750 million barrels of oil and a harmful legacy of oil-and-gas infrastructure over the next 50 years.

This is just one part of the Trump administration’s offshore drilling agenda. Trump also intends to dramatically expand offshore drilling in the United States, including in places it hasn’t happened ever, or for decades, like in California and the far reaches of Alaska’s Arctic.

Between this illegal offshore oil sale and Trump’s plans to expand drilling in our public waters, this administration is endangering coastal communities that could see their ecosystems and livelihoods devastated by oil spills and toxic pollution.
