Friend, let me tell you about what is going to happen tonight:

Soon, returns are going to come back in Alabama's Republican runoff to determine Doug Jones' opponent. If you have been following the race, it's been bitterly negative. Alabama voters haven't seen a positive ad (except ours, of course) in nearly four months. The New York Times today labeled Alabama's Republican runoff the "most negative in the country."

Voters in Alabama are clearly sick of it, because Doug's in a statistical dead heat despite his opponents spending millions going negative.

It's clear from everything we're seeing that no matter who wins, they're going to double down on division. Jeff Sessions tweeted a QAnon meme yesterday. Tommy Tuberville is trying to win by running as far to the extreme right as possible. And the ads have been vicious.

Look at the contrast so far. We've been up on the airwaves too – with Senator Jones looking you in the eye and telling you the truth: He's got our backs, and no one else's. If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching. >> [[link removed]]

With all the division and the chaos in Washington, it's really remarkable that Doug's opponents have spent every dollar in the past four months adding to it. While the contrast with Doug couldn't be more clear, it's getting harder and harder to tell Sessions and Tuberville apart:

- Both would eliminate health insurance for hundreds of thousands of Alabamians with pre-existing conditions in the middle of a pandemic
- Neither have put together any kind of a plan to save lives and save livelihoods
- Both seem eager to attack China, but have no plan on how to bring jobs back to America
- Neither of them have any record of actually getting things done – as their ads have shown, they are far more comfortable staying in their corners and lobbing attacks instead of finding solutions

Today is July 14. 936 days ago, we all came together and sent Doug Jones to the Senate because he promised to bring us together and get things done. He’s passed 17 bills and done everything from repeal a tax on Gold Star widows to secure relief for farmers hit hard by hurricanes to invest in rural hospitals. And he’ll always be there to protect health care for everyone, especially those with pre-existing conditions.

Whatever happens tonight, I'm confident we will choose unity on November 3rd. As Senator Jones puts it,
"We can choose One Alabama – and continue to move forward together and work for better health care, support our veterans, and bring back jobs from overseas."

I'm looking forward to this next part of our race. We can and we will win this.

Thank you for your continued support.
