Major New Report Outlines World’s Energy Future ( [link removed] )
*********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

A new report ( [link removed] ) from the International Energy Agency, released last week, shows that future electricity demand is likely to shoot past previous expectations. How we meet this demand has serious implications for energy security and climate change.

Among the key findings:

* *Critical minerals have become a central issue for energy security* as the transition toward renewable power and other clean technologies ramps up. **Read more.* ( [link removed] )*

* *Rising power demand is largely driven by emerging economies.* But developed countries like the U.S. are also seeing electricity needs rise, in part due to “explosive” demand growth from data centers and artificial intelligence. **Read more.* ( [link removed] )*

* *Congested grids and increasingly extreme weather* demand rapid investments in infrastructure to stabilize power systems and prevent blackouts. **Read more.* ( [link removed] )*

Climate Resilience Requires Tripling Funding ( [link removed] ) ( [link removed] )
**************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The countries and communities most vulnerable to climate change can’t protect themselves from increasingly extreme weather without more funding. Yet this pot has remained far too small for far too long ( [link removed] ). A crucial first step toward closing the gap is for countries to set an ambitious new adaptation finance goal at COP30 this week.
