John, I’m going to cut to the chase: The shutdown is over, but the House GOP is still scrambling, delaying, and straight-up lying. Again.
What else is new, you might ask? Fair.
It’s true that they’re completely dysfunctional, captured by the corruption coming out of the Trump White House. But right now, there’s something especially disturbing happening.
Speaker Johnson delayed swearing in AZ Rep. Grijalva because he knows that as soon as they hold a vote to release the Epstein Files, it will pass, and the American people will know the truth: The GOP refuses to hold the rich and powerful accountable.
So right now I want to tell you: I’ll be a “yes” vote on releasing the Epstein files — it’s time to let light be the best disinfectant and clean out the predators. If you’re behind me, I could really use your support as I stay at the front lines of the fight:
Chip in today to show the GOP you demand they RELEASE THE DAMN FILES >>
It shouldn’t have taken this long to be brought to the floor for release. That’s what holding the majority does for the GOP: Without control of the House, Democrats face uphill battles to counteract this administration's agenda, release files, and stand up for the American people.
With the midterms ramping up — we need all hands on deck. My campaign isn’t just about me; I’ve made that clear. It’s about YOU, it’s about our families, it’s about our integrity, our democracy, and everything we’ve been fighting for.
I’ll circle back later this week with an update re: the vote on the files.
Talk soon,
Mary Gay
