Friend,
I am running to be our next Delegate in Congress to be a champion for our D.C. values. As your Delegate, I will be a fighter for the issues that are essential for us to get right so that our communities can thrive. This means fighting for our autonomy and right to govern ourselves; fighting for affordable and accessible healthcare; fighting for our Federal workforce; fighting for the safety and well-being of our youth, families, and seniors; fighting for our small businesses and community enterprises, and fighting for affordable and safe housing.
Over the past weeks, I spent time with the people who are helping to move D.C. forward and who are fighting to lift our communities. Too many of us are hurting under the Trump administration and this Congress.
I spoke at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. District Conference, thanking mentors and discussing youth mental health and safe housing.
I joined the Paul Robeson Peace & Justice Awards Gala to honor and uplift the organizers advancing peace, equity, and justice in our city.
I engaged with fellow Democrats at the DC Dems November General Body Meeting to organize around statehood, resources, and full respect for DC.
I celebrated DC's economic resilience at the 2025 DC Chamber’s Choice Awards, lifting up the businesses and workers powering our recovery, especially small and minority-owned firms.
I partnered with the community at the Ward 7 Faith Leaders Breakfast to strategize on solutions to real issues that face residents east of the river, including public safety, school improvement, and housing solutions.
I also had the opportunity to participate in my first official candidate forum of the election: the Barbara Powell Johnson Monday Night Politics event hosted by the Washington, DC Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc .
At the Council, I pushed for solutions that help our Black and Brown students succeed by insisting on clear goals, investment that works, and accountability that drives results. Not performative politics that score points and solve nothing.
The elections two weeks ago sent a simple message: voters choose candidates who stand with them and share their lived experience. I am running to represent D.C. in the U.S. House and to fight for D.C. on Day One.
