I grew up in a working poor neighborhood in North Philadelphia with a single mom who did everything she could to keep food on the table and the lights on. I know firsthand the fear that comes when healthcare costs rise and groceries eat up half a paycheck.

So when I see that 60% of Americans say life is getting worse, I understand why. Too many families are stretched to the limit while billionaires throw parties and politicians play games.

But I also know something else, when Democrats are given the chance to lead, we can make life better. We can lower costs, protect healthcare, and make sure no family has to choose between medicine and meals.
