The Balter Bulletin - Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Friend, it's been a busy three weeks since the Democratic primary in NY-24! |
|||
Continuing to deliver masks for our community
Dana remains determined to do all she can to help her community throughout the COVID-19 crisis. Even as the campaign gets busier, Team Balter has continued to deliver masks to organizations across the district -- and we'll continue to do so in the months ahead. If you know of an organization that needs donations of face masks, please have them contact the campaign at [email protected]. If you would like to make masks for donation, here are three helpful guides -- printable instructions, a picture tutorial, and a video tutorial. If you want to make masks specifically for the hospitals in Syracuse, you need to use this pattern. And remember to always use a tightly woven cotton fabric. |

Ratings change! | |||
After Dana’s victory in the Democratic primary, the Cook Political Report -- a top nonpartisan election forecaster -- upgraded this race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican”, just one step away from pure “tossup” status. With national pundits upgrading our race, it’s clear that this campaign is a force to be reckoned with -- even without taking a dime of money from corporate PACs. |
|||
Polling puts our race in a dead heat!
Polling released right after the primary showed our race within the margin of error -- and Dana on the verge of victory! It's going to take a lot of work these next few months to push Dana to 50% and above -- John Katko and his allies will spend heavily against us. But our standing has never been stronger; our message is clearly resonating with people throughout the 24th District. |
|||
Dana added to DCCC’s Red-to-Blue Program!
After Dana's big win in the primary, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added our campaign to their top-tier “Red to Blue” program. It's a clear sign of how competitive the race is, and a major show of confidence in Dana's ability to win. It also means that our race is essential in protecting and growing the Democratic House majority -- a majority that must be strong if we're going to deliver the progress that Americans need on healthcare, jobs, and justice. |
|||
Democratic unity in our district
The aftermath of the primary in our district was an incredible example of Democrats coming together for a common purpose: to advance a progressive agenda and take the fight to Republicans in the fall. Francis Conole, Dana’s primary opponent, showed in his campaign that he cared deeply about the future of central and western New York. And after the primary, he put out a gracious call to his thousands of supporters across the 24th District: “Central New York and our country face great challenges ahead and yet great opportunities. We need a leader who will fight for us. That leader is Dana Balter.” Now we are working together to flip this district. |
|||
Showing appreciation for our campaign fellows
Our big victory in the primary wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of our campaign fellows. Our organizing director, Josh, and campaign manager, Brexton, joined them in celebrating the big milestone with a hike at Clark Reservation State Park. We are so grateful for their efforts over the past few weeks and we can't wait to see what incredible work this team does next!
As always, thank you for all you've done to support Dana! |
