John,
BOOM! We did it.
The Washington Post is reporting and federal court records show that the Trump administration is dropping their racist plan that would have required international college students to leave the United States unless they were enrolled in the fall term for at least one face-to-face class.
Together, working with Robert Reich in support of teachers and faculty and joined by leadership from colleges nationwide, we stopped Trump's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) gestapo from forcing international students to choose between their health and deportation.
This rule would have completely uprooted the lives of college students, forcing them to put their studies on hold and return to countries where they may not have access to the same education or career opportunities.
John, DFA members stood with international students, and now ICE and Donald Trump are backtracking.
With overwhelming grassroots support, we were able to build the momentum and pressure that was needed to force ICE to reverse its cruel decision.
Supporters like you have helped protect international college students from another racist policy coming from Trump and ICE.
It wouldn't have happened without you. Thank you.
Now, let's take a moment to celebrate... and then get back to work. The future of our country is at stake this November. We're not going to let a single moment waste in the fight to defeat Trump and Republicans nationwide.
