Dear Friend of Press Freedom,
Journalists and their sources are under dangerous digital threat. An innocent-looking attachment, a document from a tipster, or a file from a lead can become a weapon. Malicious code can lie hidden in a PDF, a Word document, or an image. For reporters working in today’s hostile environments, the stakes could not be higher.
That’s why we at Freedom of the Press Foundation (FPF) are proud to develop Dangerzone ([link removed]) , a free, open source tool that transforms potentially dangerous documents into PDFs that are safe to open and view.

SUPPORT DANGERZONE NOW ([link removed])
With Dangerzone, you drop the suspect file into a secure sandbox. The tool then renders it into pixels, strips out hidden scripts, macros, network access, and other attack vectors, and reconstructs a clean PDF you can open with confidence. It works across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Qubes OS, making it accessible to journalists and newsrooms everywhere.

When you donate ([link removed]) , you’ll directly help:
* Keep Dangerzone’s development active, allowing us to add new features and evolve with new document formats and new threats
* Strengthen security procedures and infrastructure by keeping the sandbox isolation state-of-the-art
* Empower newsrooms, independent outlets, and journalists everywhere to protect their devices, their sources, and ultimately our right to know
We believe that press freedom is inseparable from digital security. Receiving a suspicious document doesn’t rule out opening it — if you’ve got the right tool. Dangerzone is that tool.
