Team, we have only hours left.
Today is Election Day here in Texas, where two of our people first candidates are on the ballot.
Candace Valenzuela is running for Congress in Texas' 24th District. She knows the challenges that a family faces when they can't afford a place to live or food to eat, or when they struggle to pay medical bills from a pre-existing condition. Candace is running because we can't resolve these struggles if our leaders are beholden to the special interests who profit from inequality.
Also on the ballot today is José Garza, who is running for Travis County District Attorney. He's running to deliver justice for survivors, and to be a DA who respects the dignity of communities of color, working families, and immigrants.
Candace and José embody the same bold, people first vision that I embraced when I ran for president. I'm proud to support them; I look forward to helping them win today so they can fight for the people and against the powerful.
But they need our help to win, and the polls here in Texas close in just a few hours. Time is almost up. Will you please give what you can spare right now and help us guide Candace and José to victory today?
Together, we can do this.
Thanks,
Julián Castro
