It could all come down to this: experts say we can’t win the Senate without Michigan.

That’s why President Trump, Mitch McConnell, and dark-money groups with ties to Betsy DeVos are zeroing in on my friend and colleague Senator Gary Peters.

Gary’s opponent has the full support of Trump, McConnell, and special interests, and last quarter, he outraised Gary for the fourth quarter in a row, bringing in $6.4 million. In return, Gary’s opponent has pledged his loyalty to Trump “2,000%.”

We can’t afford someone in the Senate who’s on board with Trump’s phony populism and broken promises.

Trump said he would bring back jobs, but Michigan -- just like here in Ohio -- has seen factories halt production, taking the jobs of 6,000 workers with them. And now, Trump is asking the Supreme Court to wipe out the Affordable Care Act and health coverage for 23 million Americans -- in the middle of a health crisis.

Gary knows Trump’s agenda is bad for the future of our country -- that’s why he’s worked to expand health care and make it more affordable and to strengthen our economy for the people who make it work.
