Today is International Students’ Day, a moment to honor the young people who fill our classrooms with hope, insight, and an honesty that often reveals what adults overlook. Teachers Unify is grounded in the understanding that students know when something isn’t right, and teachers are often the first to see it with them. Students carry the impact of gun violence in ways adults don’t always see, in their fears, their questions, and the quiet ways they learn to navigate a world that hasn’t protected them enough. Their voices remind us why this work matters, and why prevention and care must begin long before a crisis reaches the classroom.
