Friend,

Last week, Chicagoans learned something deeply troubling.

A new report from the Chicago Public Schools Inspector General revealed that CPS employees spent millions of taxpayer dollars on overseas trips, resort hotels, spa retreats, and luxury travel even as our public schools continue to struggle with overcrowded classrooms, resource shortages, and widening achievement gaps.

In just three years, CPS’s overnight travel expenses exploded from $300,000 to nearly $8 million. That’s money that should have gone to our students. Instead, it was spent on hot air balloon rides in South Africa, camel treks in Egypt and $400-a-night Las Vegas suites.

This isn’t just waste. It’s a failure of oversight, leadership, and ultimately, it’s a failure of our children.

DEMAND BETTER

The CPS watchdog found that travel rules were “lax, vague, inadequate and unenforced,” allowing employees to take advantage of taxpayer-funded trips, often without proper approval. In total, CPS spent $14.5 million on travel over two fiscal years even as the district faces ongoing budget pressures.

Chicago families deserve a school system that places every dollar where it belongs: in the classroom.

To ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of public funds, and to fight for a school system where student needs come first, we’re asking for your help today.

Will you donate today to help Republicans protect Chicago’s students and taxpayers?

DONATE NOW

Chicago’s students should never lose out because adults failed to do their jobs responsibly. With your support, we can make sure they never do.

Thank you for standing with us.
