Years ago, I was driving through Roseville with my sister. We were talking about three women running for Congress for the very first time. My sister looked at me and said, “Isn’t that inspiring?” I told her it was. And then she turned to me and asked, “Why not you?”
That question sat heavy in the air. And in my gut, I felt something shift. I felt the pull, the call to step up, serve, and fight for the communities I love.
I’m running because I believe every family — from Susanville to Santa Rosa, from rural mountain towns to the valley floor — deserves real representation. Leaders who show up, listen first, and roll up their sleeves to solve problems.
My work in food security has taken me into food banks, community centers, and living rooms across our district. I’ve seen neighbors doing everything right, working long hours, raising kids, taking care of aging parents, and still falling behind.
I’ve spoken with families waiting for their health care premiums to jump from $600 to $3,000 a month. I’ve seen seniors cutting pills in half. I’ve seen people in the wealthiest country in the world stand in line for basic groceries while Congress plays politics.
We deserve a government that honors the dignity of every single person.
Thank you for believing in this campaign, in our communities, and in the idea that together, we can build a better future.
In the fight with you,
Audrey
