Bounty Hunters.

That’s the plan ICE is proposing to track down and round up immigrants in our communities. 

I’m Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi. I’ll be very clear: 

Once the state begins contracting out its power to unaccountable bounty hunters, it invites the very abuses, secrecy, and corruption our founders sought to prevent when our Constitution was written.

We’ve already seen masked ICE agents terrorize communities, refusing to identify themselves and failing to obey the law and respect our rights.

Now, this latest proposal is perhaps the most dangerous and concerning we’ve seen yet – raising the specter of completely unaccountable, profit-chasing bounty hunters roaming our streets to snatch up anyone they can find – including citizens and legal residents. 

It’s absolutely chilling, Herbert. 

As a proud immigrant myself, this fight is personal to me. 

That’s why I’ve been leading the fight to hold ICE accountable for its abuses and corruption – demanding this latest proposal be STOPPED immediately, and even getting the police called on me for trying to inspect an ICE facility.
