John --
As summer keeps racing by, families across the country are wondering what the plan is for our schools this fall. I want to make sure when we reopen, we do it safely and on the advice of scientists. And we need to take reopening as an opportunity to reevaluate where our education system is working and where it needs more support.
Last month, the House included my comprehensive school repair-plan in its sweeping infrastructure bill -- the Moving Forward Act. My plan will help rehabilitate our public schools in high-poverty areas, while creating millions of new jobs in the process to help Americans get back to work.
John, if we're going to build a stronger Philadelphia block by block, we can't leave our public schools behind. I hope you'll join me in adding your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Moving Forward Act today:

Schools in Philadelphia and across the country are facing dangerous problems like asbestos, lead, or mold. The Moving Forward Act will use the federal rehabilitation tax credit to support $130 billion in major rehab so our kids, teachers, and support staff have a safer place to learn, teach, and work.
The president used this same tax credit to renovate an old post office building in his Washington hotel. It's time for the credit to be used for the people, where it will invest in our public schools, public transit, AND affordable housing.
I'm proud that House Democrats have shown urgency when facing the challenge of getting our schools and our country back on track. Now, it's time for the Senate Republican majority and the White House to do the same. Join me in supporting our public schools by adding your name as a citizen co-sponsor of the Moving Forward Act today.
