Dear community,
Every young person deserves the freedom to play, to belong, and to thrive. Yet far-right lawmakers have passed laws in Idaho and West Virginia banning transgender girls and women from participating in school sports. Today, Transgender Law Center, GSA Network and PFLAG National filed an amicus brief [[link removed]] with the U.S. Supreme Court sharing the stories of trans athletes and their parents in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. BPJ .

“Whether our kids are on the playing field or in the classroom, every young person deserves the freedom to belong,” says TLC Executive Director Shelby Chestnut. “No matter our race, class, or gender, we must show up in this fight to ensure that everyone is respected for who they are.”
These cases are about equal protection, Title IX, and the right of every student to live as their authentic self. The Court’s decision will impact the civil rights of all marginalized communities, including Black, immigrant, disabled, and LGBTQ+ people. We won’t let bullies or courts decide who gets to belong. Join us in standing up for trans athletes and for the future of equality by sharing our post about the brief [[link removed]] .
Thank you for standing beside us. Because when we stand together, we win together.
In power and solidarity,
Dale Melchert
