I retired as an Air Force Lt. Colonel and federal ethics advisor. That career taught me to spot corruption, and what Kristi Noem is doing as DHS Secretary is outrageously corrupt and a total disgrace.

While the government was shut down and federal workers were furloughed, Noem flew to Mount Rushmore to film a $200 million, taxpayer-funded TV ad campaign.

And who got the contract? A mysterious Delaware LLC that was created just days before the deal was finalized, which immediately funneled millions to a Republican consulting firm run by the husband of Noem's chief spokesperson.

This is corruption, pure and simple.

This is the type of corrupt, self-enrichment I’m running to rid Washington, D.C. of. Noem likes to play dress up and act tough, but she’s just a grifter. Can I count on you to help me stand up for South Dakotans and end corruption by supporting my campaign today?

I would like to say I’m surprised by this, but I’m not at all. This is what happens when career politicians stop working for the people and start treating public office like a giant piggy bank for their inner circle.

This scandal proves the problem in Washington isn't just Noem; it's the entire culture of complacency enabled by career politicians like Mike Rounds. Rounds has been in politics for 32 years. He supports the party line that allows this ethical rot to fester and allows Big Money to fleece the taxpayer.
