We love to be the bearer of great news, John:
The House Administration Committee is considering holding a hearing this week on a congressional stock trading ban. Members who stand firmly against the practice feel more confident than ever, and this development is thanks to grassroots supporters like you powering our work.
Even just a few years ago, a congressional stock trading ban seemed impossible. Politicians talked a big game about opposing corruption, but could never quite seem to hold an actual hearing on a bill that could get it done.
Now, we have a motivated bipartisan coalition of members who are ready to take action, and some House Republicans have even pledged to deploy a discharge petition if Speaker Mike Johnson can’t get on board.
The time is now to ban the trade, so we’re giving Congress a choice: get it done, or get replaced.
Even with the good news, we know better than to put all of our eggs in one basket. We’ve endorsed a slate of candidates to challenge House members who participate in or enable this financial corruption, and we’re continuing to pressure members of Congress to get the job done. Please, fuel our fight today with a donation of just $7:
Together, we can end financial corruption in Congress for good,
Ban The Trade
