Dear John,
From our neighboring states in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York to Virginia, California, and even Mississippi, Democrats won big earlier this month.
Voters made their voices heard loud and clear: they trust Democrats to lead at every level of government — from Governors to Judges — to stand up to Trump, Republicans, and their billionaire backers, and to fight for everyday people.
These victories show that Americans believe in Democratic leadership to protect our democracy and to advance bold, innovative policies that move our country forward — not backward. Most importantly, they remind us of a powerful truth: when we come together, we win.
To all the Delaware Democrats who stepped up, volunteered, and supported candidates across the country, thank you. You’ve shown what it means to be a state of neighbors who care about our shared future — and who expect our leaders to fight for us.
While the wins we earned this month give us hope, the fight continues. Last week’s vote on the federal budget's continuing resolution was a sobering reminder that progress never comes easy. While many Senate Democrats supported the measure to avoid a shutdown, Delaware’s Senators stood strong, refusing to endorse a deal that gave away leverage without delivering for working families.
And that leadership is throughout the First State as too many of our neighbors are still struggling and counting on leaders who put people before politics. We see that with Governor Meyer’s declaration ensuring Delawareans continue receiving SNAP benefits to the ongoing fight for fair wages and affordable healthcare.
Now it’s on all of us to keep that momentum going through the midterms and beyond — because progress doesn’t stop here.
