The COVID-19 crisis only underscored what we already knew — this year’s general election is one that will decide the fate for immigrants and undocumented people for years to come.
Fueled by enablers at every level of local, city, state and federal government Trump has made it his mission to harass, abuse, injure, and kill members of the immigrant and undocumented communities in America. They need to be replaced, all of them, and it’s up to us to make sure that happens.
Right now we’re gearing up for some major campaigns to make sure our voices are heard in the lead up to this year’s General Election. Campaigns like:
Getting candidates and incumbents running for office at all levels to commit to the fight for true justice economic, social, cultural, and political justice for the undocumented and immigrant communities, by committing to real policy solutions aimed at addressing inequities immigrants face every day.
Defunding and abolishing the deportation machine that exists solely to target, deport, and hurt immigrants, including ICE and CBP.
A complete and total outright rejection of the cruel and racist actions of Donald Trump and his administration coupled with meaningful actions to ensure we do better for our communities than just “going back to normal” once he is out of office.
And so, so much more.
We need you, and we need you now. Every time we join a fight, this team stays in it until we win. This election will be no different. There are so many ways to get involved, joining the team as a UWDA Member is the first and easiest step. Will you join us?
