Recently, I sat down with the Lehigh Valley Public Radio to chat about my background, the Latino community in the Lehigh Valley, and the importance of representation!
In this interview, I was asked, “What influenced you to run for Congress?”
My answer: I was tired of seeing working families struggle while politicians make things worse for them by voting to cut health care, food assistance, and raising prices – all while giving trillions in tax cuts to billionaires. It’s just not right.

My family history also plays a role in my decision. I’m a proud immigrant. I understand the struggles that working families face because I’ve lived them. Yo los viví. I understand financial hardships, language barriers, and what it means to make sacrifices.
I couldn’t sit on the sidelines anymore. It’s not who I am to watch so much suffering happening to my community. I had to get involved and try to make a difference.
As the first Latina candidate for Pennsylvania’s 7th District, this is a huge milestone for me. I know a lot of people use the phrase “representation matters,” but it’s TRUE. Representation really does matter. I’ve often felt like my life experiences have been ignored by my representatives, so it matters to me to be the one who could change this.
We need a fighter in Congress who understands the challenges of working families. One that will speak up for them, advocate for them, and never leave them behind. I’m ready to be that fighter.
I need you with me in this fight. Will you make a contribution to my campaign today so we can fight for working families and defend the American way of life?
