At a meeting of the Federalist Society (the far-right organization focused on judicial capture and responsible for the GOP majority on the US Supreme Court), Chad Mizelle, a former Trump DOJ appointee, laid out a new approach to winning judicial fights in the aftermath of PA: Putting down Justices like “stray cats.” This is the new strategy that many on the extreme right, including those in positions of power, are adopting: “If you can’t beat 'em, kill 'em.” Already, we’ve seen this strategy begin to play out. Just last month, a South Carolina Supreme Court judge who ruled against Trump had her home burn down in a suspicious, massive explosion that many suspected was arson. The reason they are resorting to this is because the left is making a comeback in the fight for our nation's courts. On Nov. 4th, Defend Our Courts helped orchestrate a landslide victory in PA that will all but guarantee Democratic control for the next decade. It sent a resounding message to MAGA: Don’t f*** with our courts. MAGA can’t win these judicial fights when voters are educated on the stakes of what right-wing capture of our judiciary entails. They can try to circumvent the voters' will and win through violence, but in the long run, that strategy will only alienate them with the American people. These courts are the only thing standing in the way of the full implementation of Trump’s agenda, and if we can keep up the pressure and keep pulling off victories in Supreme Court races like we just did in Pennsylvania, we will survive these next three years of Trump and reclaim America. Winning the fight in PA required going for broke, literally, and we owe tens of thousands of dollars to our hardworking staff.
