– Gold and silver are trading sideways this morning after an extremely
volatile week.

Both metals rallied
strongly midweek and fell on Thursday and Friday. However both metals gained
several percent on the week.
Traders on the U.S. stock
market, particularly in the tech sector, are on edge lately.
The risks of a big
drawdown are rising and the catalyst could be bad economic data releases in the
coming days, especially as to employment.

Last month's frenetic pace of retail
buying of gold and silver has ended. Current activity levels are akin to earlier
this year – which is to say steady, both as to buying and selling.
