Canadians deserve to vote with hope.
Dear Friend,
You’ve heard it a thousand times: “I wanted to vote Green… but I couldn’t risk it.”
That sentence haunts every election in this country. And it isn’t because people lack courage — it’s because our voting system backs millions of Canadians into a corner.
Under First Past the Post, fear decides far too many votes. Fear of “splitting the vote.” Fear of wasting a ballot. Fear of the wrong party winning. In 2025, that pressure changed races across Canada — and thousands of people walked away feeling like their vote wasn’t truly theirs.
That’s not healthy. And it’s not sustainable.
A democracy where people vote out of fear instead of conviction becomes easier to divide, easier to manipulate, and harder for new leaders and new ideas to break through. We all pay the price for that.
But we don’t have to accept it.
With proportional representation, every vote counts toward real representation. You don’t have to guess what other people might do. You don’t have to choose the “least bad” option. You get your voice back — without fear hanging over the ballot box.
That’s what our Safeguarding Canada’s Democracy campaign is fighting for: a system where voters choose their future, not their fears.
To break the cycle that defined the 2025 election, we need to build serious momentum before year-end. Our goal is to raise $185,392 by November 30 to power this campaign in communities across the country.
If you can give today — even $100 — you’ll help build the movement that ends fear-driven voting for good.
donate to fix what's broken
With hope and determination,
The Green Party of Canada
P.S. Canadians shouldn’t have to vote with their shoulders up and their stomachs tight. Every donation — even $100 — brings us closer to a system where people can finally vote for what they believe in. Let’s make that real.
